City Parks of West Burlington
West Burlington is proud of the major improvements we have been able to make to the three city parks: Community Park, Longmeadow Park, and Luers Park. Recently park improvements include new multi-age playground equipment, adult swings, shelter houses, sidewalks, new parking lots, and landscaping.
Residents can call City Hall at 752-5451 and request that we put their name on a calendar to reserve a shelter houses for special events. *We do ask that you place your own signs at the shelter house you are reserving. The parks are very busy in the summer months.
 Community Park
Community Park is located at 602 West Burlington Ave and is home to our public swimming pool. During the summer the park is also heavily used for West Burlington softball and baseball games and practices. Community Park has a new shelter house, concession stand with restroom facilities, new playground equipment and sidewalks connecting everything together.
 Longmeadow Park
Longmeadow Park is located at the end of Swan Street between Longmeadow Drive and Van Weiss Blvd. This park features playground equipment for all ages. Handicapped and wheelchair accessible pieces of equipment are very popular at Longmeadow Park. Sidewalks link all the equipment together and the entire park is surrounded by a 4' lighted walking path. Longmeadow Park is home to our largest shelter house and is conveniently located near a newly paved parking lot and restroom facilities.
The green and tan equipment is perfect for little ones while the red and tan equipment is more suitable for older kids. Everyone will find something to enjoy at Longmeadow Park.
Soccer nets are set up in the large open area of Longmeadow Park and a basketball and sand volleyball court are located just across the way.
The City received a Recreation Infrastructure Grant from the State of Iowa Department of Natural Resources for improvements to Longmeadow Park. The grant award was for $88,233.34. Alliant Energy Foundation also donated $2,500 toward the project. The City is using Tax Increment Financing Funds for the City portion of the project. The total estimated project cost is $264,700.
 Luers Park
Luers Park is located behind Casey's Convinent Store at the corner of West Burlington Ave. and Mt. Pleasant Street and can be accessed from West Burlington Ave., Mt. Pleasant Street or Cottage Grove. This park has seen our most recent improvements including the very popular Space Net. Restroom facilities and a nice size shelter house are also available.
See the City Projects Page for more photos of the updated park!
