Board of Adjustment
Power and Duties Include:
- The Board of Adjustment has the authority to grant special exceptions related to nonconforming uses
- Consider temporary uses and special uses in certain zoning districts
- Interpret of the Zoning Map
- Consider request for variances to zoning and subdivision regulations.

Planning and Zoning Commission
Power and Duties Include:
- Review and make recommendations to
City Council concerning zoning regulations, amendments, supplements,
changes or modifications to the Zoning Regulations as provided by
Chapter 414 of the Code of Iowa
- Review and Comment on all plans, plats or re-plats of
subdivision or re-subdivisions of land embraced in the City and
within a two-mile jurisdiction of the City limits
- Review and recommend updates to the City's Comprehensive Plan
