a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The Board of Adjustment meets on an as needed basis
at City Hall. Decisions made by the Board of Adjustment must go to
City Council before they become final. The Council has the
opportunity to remand the Board of Adjustments decision back for
further consideration.
Power and Duties Include:
Consider
requests for special exceptions to permit nonconforming uses
- Consider granting temporary uses and special uses in
Industrial and Multi-family zoning districts
- Interpretation of the Zoning Map
- Consider appeals to grant variances to zoning and subdivision
regulations

City Hall Office Hours:

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Planning and Zoning Commission meets at
5:30 p.m. at City Hall on Thursday following the second Monday of
each month.
Power and Duties Include:
Review and make recommendations to
City Council concerning zoning regulations, amendments, supplements,
changes or modifications to the Zoning Regulations as provided by
Chapter 414 of the Code of Iowa
- Review and Comment on all plans, plats or re-plats of
subdivision or re-subdivisions of land embraced in the City and
within a two-mile jurisdiction of the City limits
- Review and Recommend updates to the City's Comprehensive Plan
