West Lift Station Improvements

The City has awarded a bid of $355,296 to Keokuk Contractors, Inc. for lift station improvements including replacement of process piping and valving within the lift station structure, addition of emergency bypass piping, flow metering and data recording, temporary pumping during construction, and miscellaneous work associated with the improvement.  All work shall be completed within a 60 calendar day construction window and by December 1, 2012.

An internal loan is being used to pay for the project and will be repaid through Tax Increment Financing Funds.

West Burlington Middle School Project

The City has acquired the property at 311 Ramsey Street.  Demolition of the school will proceed after completing the DNR asbestos requirements.  The City plans to subdivide the lots for future residential development.  LMI (Low and Moderate Income) funds from Tax Increment Financing will be used to develop the project.


Intersection Improvements - Broadway Avenue and Agency Road and Reconstruction of Broadway Street from Agency Road to Van Weiss Boulevard.

French-Reneker-Associates has been contracted to offer engineering services in connection for possible improvement to the intersection of Broadway and Agency St. and the reconstruction of Broadway from Agency Road to Van Weiss Boulevard.

The engineering services agreement  includes providing options for lane widths and configurations, sidewalks, utility improvements, and pavement cross sections; prepare opinions of probable costs and to prepare a display illustrating the final project concept.
